A three-day working summit on foundational literacy and numeracy, convened in Lucknow.
The Global Learning Lab 2027 brings ministers, researchers, implementers and funders into one room to move foundational literacy and numeracy from policy commitment to classroom practice.
The Lab is anchored by ALfA — the pedagogy Dignity Education has taken from 20 to 30,000+ government schools at about US$4 per child — and it is open to every evidence-based approach to foundational literacy and numeracy. Structured pedagogy, Teaching at the Right Level, mother-tongue, community-led and EdTech programmes are invited to present their evidence alongside ours. The question the Lab asks is not which method wins. It is what each ministry, district and NGO can put into a classroom next term.
In India the Lab sits inside the NIPUN Bharat mission and the National Education Policy 2020 goal of universal foundational literacy and numeracy by Grade 3. Uttar Pradesh — 240 million people — is running one of the world's largest FLN accelerations, and delegates can step from a plenary into a live government classroom in the same week.
